Removing one of the biggest obstacles for your team, and the reason we all want jobs

Leaders can hinder the progress of those they lead by being too competitive.

The leader's goal shouldn't be to out-work or out-produce those on their team. Although hard work and production are good measurements for the leader themselves, the competition between the leader and their followers could introduce counter-productive attitudes, or worse... obstacles that hinder the progress of the team.

The leader's goal should be to remove any and all obstacles to the success of those they lead and do whatever they can to ensure each team member can produce at their own highest level.

Leaders can still be competitive and strive for greatness, but that competition and standard should be against where they were themselves previously, not with individual members of the team.

Once ego is gone, real progress can be made.
